Two weeks to go until I get to see what the big fuss is about the ALA and convention. What's better than a bunch of librarians herded together? I think I'm looking forward to it mostly because my summer classes end that week. Whatever the reason, I'm not sure what to expect. Half the librarians I talk to tell me to join ALA (like there isn't a better way to spend my disposable income) and the other half say that ALA is a joke.
Wear comfy shoes! And if you're going to join ALA, do it while you're a student at least, it's cheaper.
