Mardi Gras in the Library: Librarians Gone Wild...
When the childrens librarian walks up to you and hands you some beads to wear, you can't say no.
EDIT: You don't know what I had to do to earn these beads... you'll probably see it in the next episode of "Librarians Gone Wild!"

Librarians and Book Displays...
![]() |
| This library creepster stared at me my whole shift. |
A lot of library backrooms are bound to be filled with holiday themed decorations. I believe librarians tend to become hardcore hoarders the longer they've been in the profession, especially now with dwindling budgets. So I really shouldn't have been surprised when I encountered this display when I covered another branch during their staff meeting. Of course a librarian would own a life-size cardboard cut-out of Fabio.

I think someone shivved me at work...
What better way to spend an evening than by sewing a mysterious slash in a sweater. The thing is, I have only worn it once,at work, and the cut is clean line.
On another sweater related note, I also got my first holiday themed sweater. Unfortunately, it only fits my bottle of Patron.

It's The End of the World.
Who's ready for New Year's?? --- I am!
Time to drink it up.
I never did get drunk since finishing this damn MLIS, so I really have to make up for that tomorrow night.
I'll have my 3 buddies with me so I don't think I'll have a problem.
Here's to another year!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss.
Our children's librarian decided that everyone working today should be rocking a Dr. Seuss hat.
It could be worse, my coworker tried volunteering me last night to wear the full Cat in the Hat costume. Mercifully I work the morning shift so the timing worked out for me. Another coworker tried on the suit last night and she was prancing around in the back room. She is so freaking excited about wearing it. I would define her as a "Prop-Librarian;" she doesn't own any holiday themed sweaters, but she'll wear a leprechaun hat for St. Patty's or a star spangled hair band on July 4th.
Her surprising alacrity to sport the Cat in the Hat costume leaves me to believe that she's a closet furry (don't Google that, it's really NSFW, that and you won't be able to get the images out of your head).

I'll Play Along...
I am not a big fan of Valentine's Day. I am on the side of calling it a Hallmark Holiday.
One of my classmates gave every one a Hershey's Kiss. I seriously felt like I was in grade school and I was supposed to bring in Valentine's Day cards for the whole class ("I Choo, Choo, Choose You").
I wasn't scheduled to work today, but I can imagine the copious amounts of red my coworkers must have worn. Wouldn't be surprised if there were some heart covered sweaters involved... ::shudder::

Halloweenies...
This book epitomizes the ultimate Halloween Fail, and I challenge you to find one that can trump this Royal Flush down the drain. Do you see how bad this book is?? Just by posting this, it's failness is seeping into my system.
Really?? You're going to suggest someone carry a ladder around?
Ugh... I think I actually enjoyed reading Catch-22 back in the day. This is version 2.0 of this costume, the first one suggested a plastic bag, but uhm, yeah, that didn't work out, so a mesh net was recommended instead.
Yes, wear a bunch of ladies undergarments on the front of your shirt and enjoy the tons of stares you'll get as the Halloween party-perv.
That or you can be the crazy guy stabbing cereal boxes, pick you poison.
